About the Commercial Disputes Settlement Centre

The “Commercial Dispute Settlement Centre” is a centre for settling and conciliating commercial disputes that arise between members of the Chamber or between its members and third parties.

The Board of Trustees consists of seven members whose names are issued by a decision of the Chamber’s Board of Directors. The decision names the Chairman of the Board, provided that the members of the Board of Trustees are appointed with expertise and experience and are known for their independence and impartiality. The term of membership of the Board of Trustees is three years, renewable by a decision. from the head of the chamber.

The General Secretariat consists of CEO and all the staff of the Chamber's Legal Affairs Department.

The Supervisory Board for the Settlement of Commercial Disputes is composed of three members of the Board of Trustees of the Centre. A decision is issued to name them by the Board of Directors of the Chamber. The decision names the Chairman of the Board. The term of membership of the members of this Board is three years, subject to renewal, by a decision of the Chairman of the Chamber.

The work of the Board of Trustees and the Supervisory Board for the Settlement of Commercial Disputes is voluntary and they do not receive any remuneration for it, with the exception of the allowance for attending their meetings, and a decision is issued by the President of the Chamber.

The Board of Trustees shall meet at least four times a year or as often as necessary at the invitation of the Chairman of the Board or his deputy in his absence.

The Supervisory Board for the Settlement of Commercial Disputes meets at least six times a year or whenever necessary based on an invitation from the Chairman of the Board, provided that an agenda for the meeting is attached to the invitation.

Terms of reference of the Commercial Dispute Settlement Centre The centre undertakes the following tasks:
  • Preparing a table of the names of brokers accredited by the Chamber.
  • Supervising the mediation requests received by the Chamber.
  • Preparing a list of procedures for settling commercial disputes through mediation at the Chamber, and other regulations for settlement procedures through other alternative means.
  • Preparing a unified version of the mediation clause, as well as the mediation agreement and other agreements for the settlement of disputes after being approved by the Board of Trustees and circulated to the members of the Chamber.
