Objectives of the Bahrain Asian Traders Committee

The Bahrain Asian Traders Committee, previously a sub-committee of the Board of Directors became a permanent committee as the other permanent committees of the Chamber of Commerce. The Committee has prepared a comprehensive plan for its programs and internal regulations during the current session. The plan aims at developing and boosting the business activity through Asian traders and it underlined its objectives for the current session as follows:

  1. To foster, encourage and develop greater involvement and contribution of the members of the community in the activities of the Chamber in particular and the economic activities of the country on general.

  2. To be a channel of communication in between the Chamber and the members of the Community.

  3. To provide a forum for the presentation of views of the members of the community

  4. To encourage visits of Bahraini Trade Delegations to other Asian countries and vice versa with a view towards fostering strong trade relations and increasing the flow of investments between Bahrain and the Asian countries respectively.

  5. To encourage major Asian companies to use Bahrain as the headquarters or as a base for their activities in the region

  6. To assist in the training and development of Bahrainis in technical institutions and major companies in Bahrain

  7. To encourage Asian traders to be engaged in joint investments on the national level, particularly in the investment of property

  8. Holding meetings with the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, the Minister of Industry & Commerce and the Assistant Undersecretary for Immigration and passports to find solutions for some of the issues faced by Asian traders.
